About Me…
I am a studio potter with a background in fine art, having studied at Chelsea College of Art where my practice centred on sculptural pots. This early focus on form and material led me to pursue functional ceramics. I went on to undertake the full-time diploma at Clay College in Stoke-on-Trent, where I have strengthened my practical and technical understanding of pottery.
I make functional stoneware pots that are thrown and altered on the wheel. The application of slip plays a central role in my process, bringing a sense of honesty and liveliness, while also striking a balance of softness and robustness.
I primarily fire in reduction and salt atmospheres, alongside the occasional use of saggars filled with combustible materials, embracing subtle variations and surface qualities created within the saggar. Through this approach, I aim to create pots that feel quietly familiar yet enduring.
